What does a new patient consultation involve?
Your first consultation is designed to give us a complete understanding of your dental needs, whilst introducing you to the practice and the Manor Square dentist who will be looking after you.
You will be greeted initially by our front desk team. We kindly ask you to bring your completed medical history form with you or arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time if you need to collect a form from reception to complete. Please also remember to bring a list with you of any medication you are taking.
You will be invited through to one of our modern treatment rooms to meet your dentist, have an informal chat about your dental needs and discuss the forms you have completed.
A full medical history will be taken and your dentist will then carry out a complete examination of your teeth, gums and jaw joints. We also check for mouth cancer and tell you what we find. Low dose digital x-rays and photographs may be taken where appropriate.
Following this, your dentist will discuss any findings and treatment options with you. You will be given a detailed estimate for any appropriate treatment and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
The initial consultation normally takes around 20 minutes and you will then return to the front desk team who will schedule any further appointments with you if required.
Please be aware, you may be asked to pay an amount upfront before your next appointment.
